We want you and your dogs to have the best possible time at Run Free. To keep everyone safe, relaxed and happy, we’ve put together answers to the most common questions about booking, using the fields, and what to expect when you arrive.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just drop us an email at [email protected]
Bookings can only be made online. Click Book Now from any page and choose your field. A calendar will appear: green slots are available, red slots are already booked. Double-click the slot(s) you wish to reserve, then click Add to Basket and continue through to payment using a debit or credit card. Once your booking is complete, you’ll immediately receive a confirmation email from Run Free with your booking details and the PIN code needed to open the gate.
How much does it cost to book a field?
It costs £7 for 30 minutes for 1–4 dogs. If you bring 5–6 dogs, there’s an additional £1.50 per 30 minutes, and for 7–8 dogs, a further £1.50 per 30 minutes. Payment is made online via debit or credit card when booking.
Can I book more than half an hour?
Yes. You can book as many available slots as you wish by highlighting them on the booking calendar and adding them to your basket.
How do I find my closest field?
Click on Find a Field on our website and enter your postcode or town. You’ll then see a list of your closest fields along with a map showing their locations.
How far in advance or how late can I make a booking?
You can book several months in advance, or as late as 5 minutes before your slot (subject to availability).
Can I cancel my booking?
Bookings are non-refundable. Refunds are only given if Run Free has to cancel (for example, in extreme weather). If that happens, we’ll offer an alternative date where possible.
Can I amend my booking?
Bookings normally can’t be changed. In exceptional circumstances, please email [email protected] or call us on 07717 162879 and we’ll try to help. We don’t amend bookings for bad weather, but each field has a shelter.
What happens if I’m late for my slot?
You can use the time left in your booking, but you’ll still need to leave promptly at the end so the next customer has their full slot.
How do I open the lock?
Line up your PIN code with the dashes on the lock. The numbers must face straight out (not upwards) and be entered left to right.
What if the PIN code doesn’t work?
Please call us immediately on 07717 162879.
How do I find the fields?
Directions for each site are provided on our website, along with a Google Maps link for every field. As many of our fields are in remote locations, the easiest and most reliable way to find us is by using Google Maps and following the link from our site.
What if I lose or don’t receive my PIN code?
Please check your email junk/spam folder. If you still can’t find it, call us on 07717 162879.
Can I arrive early?
Please don’t arrive more than 5 minutes before your booking. Please ensure you and your dog remain in your car until the previous user has left.
What if another customer is still in the field?
Stay in your vehicle until the field is empty. Our 5-minute buffer between bookings ensures dogs don’t meet at changeover. If the previous customer is late leaving, please call us on 07717 162879 so we can contact them.
Do I need to leave the site when my booking ends?
Yes. To ensure the next booking starts smoothly and to avoid upsetting other dogs, please leave the entire site promptly at the end of your slot, not just the field itself. This includes the car park and paths leading to the field.
Are the fields secure?
Yes. All fields are fenced at least 5.5 feet high with 6 foot gates. The base of the fencing is dug 6 inches into the ground. The fences and gates are regularly checked and maintained.
Are the fields suitable for small dogs?
Yes. All our fields have fencing that is dug 6 inches into the ground to help prevent dogs escaping underneath.
Will there be other dogs in the field?
No. Each booking is for your exclusive use. You’re welcome to invite friends and their dogs, as long as your booking covers the total number of dogs.
Can a group of us come together on one booking?
Yes, provided your booking covers the total number of dogs.
Is there a maximum number of dogs I can bring?
Yes. A booking includes up to 4 dogs. You can add extra dogs (up to 8 in total). Please ensure there’s enough supervision for the number of dogs you bring.
Can I bring puppies?
Yes. Puppies from 8 weeks old are welcome, provided they’re fully immunised and up to date with worming treatments.
Can I bring a dog in season?
Yes, in-season bitches are permitted.
Can reactive or nervous dogs use the fields?
Yes. The fields are for exclusive use and the 5-minute gap between bookings helps avoid contact with other dogs.
Can I bring an XL Bully or another banned breed?
Yes, if all legal requirements are followed, including registration with the Index of Exempted Dogs, insurance, neutering, microchipping, and lead/muzzle rules. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Can children come to the fields?
Yes, children are welcome, but must be supervised at all times. For safety, please don’t allow them to climb on fences or dog equipment.
What if my dog digs holes?
Digging isn’t allowed, except in designated sandpits (where provided). Holes can be dangerous for running dogs. Please discourage digging and let us know if any occurs.
What about dogs with illness or kennel cough?
Please don’t bring dogs that have shown signs of kennel cough, sickness, or diarrhoea in the last 72 hours.

Is there drinking water for dogs?

Is there anywhere to clean dogs or boots?

What is your poo policy?
All our fields are regularly checked and cleaned, but between cleans it is possible for customers to sometimes miss the odd poo. If you see a poo, please pick it up, even if it’s not your dog’s. That way everyone enjoys clean fields. Please use the bags provided and bins in the field.
Is there somewhere to park?
Yes, each site has a parking area next to the fields. Many of our fields also have secure loading bays so you can park, close the gate and let the dogs straight out from the car to the field. Please check the locations page to see which fields have this facility.
Is there play equipment in the fields?
Yes, a number of our fields have play equipment for dogs. Please check the locations page for details. Please note that the equipment is for dogs only. Please don’t climb or play on it yourself.
