Every dog has their own journey, and for some, having a safe place to run, train and simply enjoy being a dog can make all the difference. Hayley recently shared Marlo’s story with us, and we’re delighted to hear how much confidence he’s gained since visiting our secure dog field in Port Glasgow.
Hayley and Marlo’s Story
“We love the Run Free Port Glasgow field so much, it’s been a real game changer for us and for Marlo.
Marlo is just one year old and, thanks to the space and the way you manage the site, we’ve been able to build his recall properly. He used to be glued to our side whenever he was off lead, but now he has the confidence to explore, have fun safely, and still comes back when we call. Every time we head to the field, he’s so excited because he knows he’s allowed to run free, and he always comes home happily tired after his sessions.
We’re also very aware of why that freedom matters for him. Marlo was recently attacked by two off-lead dogs while he was on a walk, and since then he’s sometimes become anxious around unfamiliar dogs, especially if they rush into his space. Having the Run Free field gives him room to move without worrying that something might happen, helping him relax and enjoy himself instead of always being on edge.
Marlo is a fun-loving Labrador who particularly enjoys sniffing around the field and retrieving his toys. As he’s from a working line, the field has also been brilliant for a bit of gundog training. He really benefits from using his brain as well as burning off his energy.
Honestly, a huge thank you for providing such a safe, positive space. We have an absolute blast every time we’re there, and we’re so grateful for everything your facilities have helped us achieve.”
